Pre-Production
Here will be all of my pre-production work before I start producing my FMP.
MindMup
For this project I created a MindMup diagram to get a basic idea of what I wish to achieve and what I need in order to create my documentary project.
After sorting through over 6 different ideas I finally settled onto doing my FMP project on JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run for my documentary FMP and began creating said mindmup diagram as a basic skeleton to work with for my project.

Lokking for a person to Interview
Before I could start any recording, I needed someone to interview on the topic that I am wishing to cover, Fortunately for me, I have a friend who is willing to participate in a one to one interview discussing about JoJo Steel Ball Run.
I created a document for them to sign, I had created this very early into the project as my friend wanted to volunteer around the start of the project, that is why the paper says "Filming: To Be Dated" rather than an actual time.
Once I sent my friend the document, they wrote their name and mailed it back to me to sign, which I then later passed to my tutor to sign so that I may begin assembling together some equipment.
My friend who is participating is called Luke Hancock, someone i've known for nearly 10 years, the reason I have decided to interview him is because he is someone that I know that has also read the Steel Ball Run manga, in fact, he was the one who recommended me to read this manga in the first place.

You can find the Permission to Film (PTF) file in both PDF and DOCX file formats below.
Equipment I will need for my interview
The Equipment I need to record the interview for this project will consist of:
- Two Cameras (Originally Three)
- One Audio recorder (Zoom H1N)
- Two tripods
- One additional SD card & Micro SD
- Two clip microphones with a mic splitter for H1N
- Additional batteries for H1N recorder
A few of the equipment I already had readily available on hand, I.E. one camera and two SD cards, the rest of the equipment was supplied to me via my college.
Shot List for interview
- Medium
- Over the Shoulder
- A second Medium shot from another angle
For my Interview I chose to just go for two shots from two different angles to film, with one being a medium shot with me and my friend on polar opposites of the frame and another shot that kind of a third person over the shoulder from my friends perspective.
Interview Questions
I had a few questions that I had come up with for the interview, with some being general questions about the series as well as some directly related to SBR.
These questions are:
- How would you describe JoJo in a sentence?
- Which Part is your favourite and why?
- Who is your favourite JoJo Character?
- Which part is your least favourite?
- How did you discover JoJo?
- What is JoJo Steel Ball Run?
- What do you like about Part 7/ Steel Ball Run?
- Is there anything that you dislike about Steel Ball Run?
- Who is your favourite Villain?
- What is your favourite Stand?
- How did Araki's art style evolve through the years of JoJo?
Location Recce for filming area
The location that I would be recording this interview would be at my friends house, more specifically in the kitchen area, which I was able to take some photos with some books setup pre-paring for the interview.
The room size was perfect for the interview I had planned, the room also had two light switches that allowed you to adjust the lights intensity which was a good bonus, allowing me to apply the ideal amount of light to the shots.
There weren't many hazards to worry about as the room was in a controlled environment as well as being tidied before setting up for the interview.
Script
As of 18.4.23 I am currently Creating a script to do some voice over parts within my documentary FMP much similar to my Resident Evil FMP.
12.5.23 - I have finished and recorded the base script for the narration of my Documentary.
The script serves as the start of my documentary before the interview begins and quickly informs the viewer of what the topic that I have chosen is with a small synopsis to hopefully intrigue the viewer.
